Scribing: The Aftermath of Week 1

I'm not even going to lie about it ... this was more challenging than I thought. Certain areas seemed to flow so perfectly while I struggled in areas I didn't think I would.

Let me flash back to what this is even about. I read the book The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. What an amazing book and very quick, easy read. I know there are areas of my life that I want to improve and taking action seems to always be my biggest obstacle. I have the best intentions in the beginning and then that eagerness and drive tend to quickly wear off as soon as it's no longer exciting, fresh and new.

Today is day seven. I've committed myself to at least a year of working The Miracle Morning principles.

  • silence
  • affirmations
  • visualization
  • exercise
  • reading
  • scribing

This past week, against Elrod's advice I did my morning silence and visualization in bed before rising for my workout. Some days it was a success and other days I drifted back to sleep so in the upcoming week, I need to get out of bed as suggested.

Some days I completed every task and others I struggled to get everything done in the morning so I vowed to complete it at night. Reading, which seems to be my biggest obstacle of the principles, at night time doesn't work for me. It makes me sleepy and my focus is just not there. It's like reading on auto-pilot. Ya know, you read 5 paragraphs and then think to yourself, "what the hell did I just read?" and have to go back and re-read! So this is an area that I need to improve on.

I can't say that I feel like a transformation is taking place just yet so I'm committed to follow my practice and perfect the flow that works best for me. Here is what I'll be trying in the upcoming week ::

  • 4:50 alarm sounds - get out of bed
  • 4:55 silence, visualization, affirmation before workout
  • 5:10 exercise (at home for 35 mins) following the guide to my program
  • 5:50 journal after workout
  • 6:00 read 10 pgs before my daughter wakes up and/or listen to audio while working throughout the day.

I will keep you posted in the upcoming weeks as I plan to scribe out my day seven of each week here on the blog. If you'd like to join me, you can do so by joining my happy and healthy sisterhood over on Facebook. It's a private community for women who want a safe place to grow and live their best life. ♥︎

Hope to see you there. Sending my love and healthy vibes.
